Voice Profile: Your Personalized Dictation Insights

Voice Profile surfaces personalized insights about your dictation habits — your superpower, peak time and place, catch phrase, and more — once you've dictated 2,000 words.

What it is

Voice Profile is a personalized summary of your dictation habits. It lives in the Your Voice tab on the Insights page, accessible from the Hub sidebar and the sidebar card on Hub Home.

Your profile includes a superpower (the main hero card), a headline, peak time and place, catch phrase, most used word, most corrected word, and persona (a role label like "Coding" or "Healthcare & Life Sciences"). At the first milestone, catch phrase, most used word, and most corrected word are locked and unlock at later milestones.

The Insights page also includes a Your Reach tab, which shows your dictation stats pulled directly from your account.

Note: Your dictations are stored only locally and are never shared with or stored by Wispr Flow. Your Voice Profile report is built from that local data.

When to use it

Use Voice Profile when you want to:

  • Discover patterns in your dictation habits you weren't aware of

  • Find out when you're most productive with dictation during the day

  • Identify verbal habits or catch phrases you use frequently

  • Compare your dictation stats to teammates on the leaderboard (Enterprise plan)

How it works in Flow

Overview

Voice Profile builds progressively as you dictate. You'll see a preview during onboarding, track your progress toward the unlock threshold, and get a notification once your profile is ready. Your dictation stats on the Your Reach tab are fetched automatically from your account and stay up to date.

Key behaviors

  • Onboarding preview: During onboarding, you'll see a preview of what your Voice Profile will look like, along with a goal to reach 2,000 words to unlock it.

  • Halfway notification: At 1,000 words, Flow sends a one-time notification to let you know you're halfway to the unlock.

  • 2,000-word unlock: Once you cross 2,000 words, a Create report button appears so you can generate your first profile.

  • Insufficient local data: When you click Create report or Generate, Flow checks how many words are stored locally on your device. If there isn't enough, generation is blocked and a dialog tells you exactly how many more words you need to dictate.

  • Progress bar: The progress bar toward your next milestone reflects the words actually stored on your device, so it accurately shows how close you are to being able to generate a profile.

  • Building state: While your profile is being generated, the Your Voice tab shows a building state so you know it's in progress.

  • Completion notification: When your profile is ready, Flow sends a notification with confetti showing your persona illustration and superpower title. Click View insights to open your profile.

  • Access points: Once unlocked, your Voice Profile is available from the sidebar card on Hub Home and from the Your Voice tab on the Insights page. Clicking a Voice Profile notification opens the Insights → Your Voice tab directly.

  • Word counting: Words from retried or re-transcribed dictations do not count toward your total.

  • Additional milestones: Updated profiles generate at 12,000, 37,000, 87,000, 162,000, and 262,000+ words. Each milestone unlocks additional insight cards, and a Create report button lets you regenerate at each one.

  • Hub sidebar card states: The Your Voice Profile card on Hub Home reflects where you are in the process — locked progress, a generate prompt when you're eligible, a blocked state if local data is insufficient, a building state, a failure state with retry, your completed profile until you've viewed it, and progress toward the next refresh.

  • New insights notifications: When new insights or a refresh is available, Flow notifies you with a Refresh insights or Get insights button to open or update your profile.

Important: If your organization has a transcript-deletion policy ("Delete after 24h" or "Never store"), Voice Profile is not available. The sidebar card, onboarding step, Your Voice tab, and word-count milestone notifications are all hidden, because Voice Profile relies on transcript history that those policies delete. The Your Reach tab on the Insights page remains accessible.

Sharing your stats and Voice Profile

From the Insights page, you can share your stats and Voice Profile as image cards. The share button opens a modal with a carousel of cards — browse through them and choose the one you want to share.

On the Your Voice tab, three cards are available in this order:

  • Your Voice Profile: Shows your superpower title, a description (long descriptions are trimmed to fit), and your persona illustration, with a smaller profile icon.

  • Flow Superlatives: Shows your catch phrase, most used word, and most corrected word.

  • When You Flow the Most: Shows your peak dictation time.

For each card, you can:

  • Copy to clipboard: Copies the card as an image so you can paste it anywhere.

  • Download: Saves the card as an image file to your device.

  • Share to X or LinkedIn: Copies the card image and opens that platform's compose page in your browser. You'll see a "The image was copied. Paste it here." prompt so you know exactly what to do next.

Note: The share button is disabled while your data is still loading or if your Voice Profile hasn't been generated yet. The heatmap share card displays a clean view without navigation controls — those are only visible when browsing your heatmap on the Insights page directly.

Local data thresholds by milestone

The minimum number of locally stored words required to generate a profile increases at each milestone:

  • First milestone (2,000 words): 2,000 locally stored words.

  • 12,000-word milestone: 5,000 locally stored words.

  • 37,000-word milestone: 10,000 locally stored words.

  • 87,000-word milestone and beyond: 20,000 locally stored words.

Leaderboard

The leaderboard shows how your dictation stats compare to other users in your email domain or enterprise team. The full view requires an Enterprise plan; otherwise it shows a blurred preview with upgrade prompts.

  • Time ranges: "This week" (Monday–Sunday, default) and "All time."

  • Sortable metrics: Total words, words per minute, daily streak, desktop words, and mobile words.

  • Podium view: The top three users appear in a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place podium layout.

  • Ranked list: Below the podium, a scrollable, paginated list shows all other ranked users.

  • Your position: Your rank is highlighted so you can quickly find where you stand.

  • Share button: Opens a modal to share your leaderboard ranking.

  • Admin control: Enterprise admins can hide the leaderboard for their organization.

Headline — a fun summary of your dictation vibe

A short, fun headline at the top of your Voice Profile captures the overall vibe of your dictation style.

Dictation superpower — what you do especially well

Highlights a strength Flow has identified from your usage patterns — something you do particularly well when dictating.

Peak time and place — when and where you dictate most

Shows when you tend to be most active with dictation and which app you use most during that peak time.

Example: "Evenings and Notion seem to be your sweet spot."

Catch phrase — a verbal habit unique to you

Surfaces a word or phrase that appears frequently in your dictation. Locked at 2,000 words; unlocks at a later milestone.

Persona — your dictation role

Shows your persona label — one of 22 categories (such as Coding, Analysis, or Healthcare) with its icon — reflecting the type of work you most commonly dictate for.

FAQs

How many words do I need to unlock Voice Profile?

Voice Profile starts generating after you've dictated 2,000 words. You'll see this goal referenced during onboarding.

How do I check my progress toward unlocking?

Your word-count progress is shown in the Your Voice tab on the Insights page and on the sidebar card on Hub Home. The progress bar reflects the words stored locally on your device. Flow also sends a notification at 1,000 words.

Why is generation blocked even though my word count looks high enough?

Voice Profile is built from dictation data stored on your device, not from your overall account word count. If not enough is available locally, Flow blocks generation and shows a dialog telling you how many more words you need. See "Local data thresholds by milestone" above for the requirement at each milestone.

Where can I find my Voice Profile after it's unlocked?

Open it from the sidebar card on Hub Home or from the Your Voice tab on the Insights page. Clicking a Voice Profile notification also takes you directly to the Insights → Your Voice tab.

What is the Your Reach tab?

The Your Reach tab on the Insights page displays your dictation stats — such as word counts and app usage — fetched directly from your account. Your Voice Profile lives in the separate Your Voice tab.

What happens if profile generation fails?

A "Something went wrong. Try again." message appears with a Create report button to retry manually.

Can I share my Voice Profile to social media?

Yes. Once your Voice Profile is generated, click the share button on the Your Voice tab to open a modal with shareable image cards. You can copy a card to your clipboard, download it, or share directly to X or LinkedIn. When sharing to X or LinkedIn, the card image is copied automatically and you'll see an instruction to paste it into the compose window.

Why don't I see Voice Profile or the Your Voice tab?

If your organization has a transcript-deletion policy ("Delete after 24h" or "Never store"), Voice Profile is not available. Because these policies prevent transcript history from being stored, the sidebar card, onboarding step, Your Voice tab, and milestone notifications are all hidden. Contact your administrator if you have questions about your organization's policy.

Limitations and notes

  • Voice Profile is available on Mac. Windows support is coming soon; iOS and Android have not been announced.

  • Insights and word counts are based on desktop dictation only. Mobile dictation does not contribute to your Voice Profile.

  • Profile generation typically completes within 3 minutes. If it takes longer, the status shows as unavailable and Flow retries on subsequent dictation activity.

  • The leaderboard requires an Enterprise plan, and admins can hide it for their organization. "This week" rankings reset every Monday.
