Your Usage tab: Track your dictation stats in Wispr Flow
Last updated: April 30, 2026
Available on: Mac, Windows
Note: Insights is rolling out gradually. You may not see Insights in your sidebar until you're included in the rollout. The Leaderboard tab rolls out separately.
See your dictation speed, automatic corrections, total words, and activity streak at a glance. If you're on a team or Enterprise plan, you can also see how your team ranks on the Leaderboard.
What it is
Insights is a page in the Wispr Flow desktop app with two tabs covered in this article:
Your Usage: Five tiles tracking your personal dictation activity.
Leaderboard: Team usage rankings, available to eligible team and Enterprise users.
A third tab, Your Voice, also exists but is not covered here.
When to use it
Open Insights when you want to:
Check your average dictation speed in words per minute and see how you compare to other Flow users.
See how many corrections Flow has made for you automatically.
Track which apps you dictate into most often.
Review your dictation streak and overall consistency.
See how your team ranks by usage (team and Enterprise users).
How it works in Flow
Overview
Open Insights in the desktop app and pick a tab. Each tile loads independently — if one fails, click its retry button to reload just that tile without refreshing the page.
Your Usage key behaviors
Words per minute (WPM): An animated radial gauge shows your average dictation speed as a rounded whole number, plus your percentile ranking among Flow users (e.g., "Top 10%"). Both update immediately after each dictation. The percentile is capped at the 99.9th percentile.
Corrections by Flow: The number of transcription errors, filler words (like "um" and "like"), and other corrections Flow detected and fixed automatically. The tile shows words corrected and dictionary fixes applied during your sessions.
Total words dictated: A running count of every word you've dictated using Flow. A badge compares this month's word count to the same number of days in the previous month and updates immediately after each dictation. The badge is hidden when there's no prior-month data to compare against.
Desktop app usage breakdown: A horizontal bar chart shows how you spend your dictation time across categories — Personal Messages, Work Messages, Emails, AI Prompts, Documents, and Other Tasks. Bars are colored by rank: your top app is darkest, the second and third are a medium shade, and the rest are lightest. Hover any bar to see the category and total word count.
Usage streak heatmap: A calendar view of your dictation activity. Days in your current streak glow; other active days are shaded by word count. Hover any cell to see total words, apps used, and your top app for that day. Use the arrow buttons above the calendar to navigate to earlier time periods.
Share button: Opens a carousel of branded share cards. Each card can be copied, downloaded as an image, or shared to X or LinkedIn.
Leaderboard key behaviors
Podium and table views: Top-ranked members appear in a podium view, with the full team ranking shown in a table below.
Sort metric and time-range controls: Choose the sort metric from a picker in the leaderboard table's stat column header. The time-range filter (This week / All time) and the history dropdown for browsing past weekly leaderboards sit above the table.
Available sort metrics: Total words, Words per minute, Current daily streak, Desktop words, and Mobile words. Words per minute and Current daily streak appear only for "All time" — they are hidden when "This week" is selected.
Pagination and Jump to me: The leaderboard table is paginated. Use the "Jump to me" button to scroll directly to your row.
Refresh cadence: The leaderboard refreshes hourly.
Enterprise admin view: Business plan admins see full, unlocked rankings and a Share button that opens a leaderboard share card. The card can be copied as an image, downloaded, or shared to X or LinkedIn.
Locked preview: When the leaderboard isn't unlocked for you, a static preview image appears with one of four prompts:
Same-domain users with no team — option to Create team.
Same-domain users with an existing team — option to Request to join.
Enterprise members without a Business SKU — option to Upgrade to enterprise.
Solo Business admins with no teammates — option to Invite team members.
Admin-controlled visibility: A "Hide team leaderboard" setting in the enterprise admin portal (web) hides the Leaderboard tab from everyone in the organization, including admins.
"New" badge on the sidebar
Before your first visit: A "New" badge appears next to Insights in the sidebar and periodically wiggles to draw your attention.
After your first visit: The badge fades out automatically and no longer appears.
Best practices
Hover heatmap cells and bar chart segments to surface details that aren't visible by default.
Wait for all tiles to finish loading before clicking Share — the button stays disabled until your stats are ready.
How to open Insights
Open the Wispr Flow desktop app.
Click Insights in the left sidebar.
Select the Your Usage or Leaderboard tab. Tiles and rankings populate as your data loads.
Adjust the Leaderboard view as needed: use the time-range filter (This week / All time) above the table to change the period, and use the picker in the stat column header to change the sort metric.
Common issues
Your Usage showed stats from a different account after signing in
This was caused by a bug where Insights data from the previous account wasn't cleared on sign-out, so it remained visible until the next scheduled refresh (up to an hour later). This has been fixed — Insights data is now cleared immediately when you sign out, and your correct stats load right away when you sign back in. Update Wispr Flow to the latest version to get this fix.

FAQs
What counts as a correction by Flow?
Any transcription error, filler word (like "um" or "like"), or other correction Flow identified and fixed automatically during a dictation session, without you having to manually edit the text. Dictionary fixes — where Flow applied a saved word or snippet — are also counted.
A tile shows an error. What should I do?
Click the retry button on the tile to reload its data. If the error persists, close and reopen the Insights page.
How far back does the heatmap go?
You can navigate back as far as either your account creation date or March 1, 2025 (when Wispr Flow began collecting heatmap data) — whichever is more recent. The view adjusts automatically to fit your window width.
The Share button on Your Usage is grayed out. Why?
The Share button is disabled while your stats are still loading. Wait for your tiles to finish, and the button will become active.
How does the monthly comparison badge on Total Words work?
It compares your word count so far this month against the same number of days in the previous month — so if today is the 15th, it looks at the 1st through the 15th of both months. Hover the badge to see the exact word count it's comparing against. The badge is hidden when there's no prior-period data available.
I don't see the Leaderboard tab. Why?
The Leaderboard is available to team and Enterprise users and is rolling out gradually — if you're on an eligible plan and don't see it, check back after your next app update. On Enterprise plans, your organization may have hidden the Leaderboard via the admin portal setting.
How do I get rid of the "New" badge next to Insights?
Click Insights in the sidebar to open the page. The badge disappears automatically after your first visit and won't come back.
How do I share the leaderboard with my team?
If you're a Business plan admin, click the Share button on the Leaderboard. It opens a leaderboard share card that you can copy as an image, download, or share to X or LinkedIn.
How do I hide the Leaderboard from my team members?
The "Hide team leaderboard" setting lives in the enterprise admin portal (web). When enabled, it hides the Leaderboard tab from everyone in the organization, including admins. Depending on rollout, enterprise admins may not be able to toggle it themselves — contact Wispr support if you need it changed.
Limitations and notes
Insights is available on Mac and Windows desktop only — not on iOS or Android.
The desktop app usage breakdown only reflects apps you've dictated into on desktop. Mobile dictation is not included.
The Leaderboard is available to team and Enterprise (Business plan) users. Team plan and same-domain users see a locked preview and need to upgrade to Enterprise for full rankings.
The Share button and unlocked rankings on the Leaderboard are only available to Business plan admins.
The heatmap displays data back to your account creation date or March 1, 2025 — whichever is more recent.
Sharing to X or LinkedIn copies the card image to your clipboard and opens the platform's compose page — paste the image manually to complete your post.
WPM values are displayed as rounded whole numbers throughout Insights. The WPM percentile is capped at the 99.9th percentile.
The monthly comparison badge on Total Words does not appear when there's no prior-month data to compare against.
On the Leaderboard, Words per minute and Current daily streak are only available as sort metrics for the "All time" range. The leaderboard refreshes hourly.
